Introduction

My  reason  I  pick  this  PDR  project  is  because  I  want  to learn  all  names  and  bio  data  of  all  leader  that  my  friends  choose.  So  the  leader  that  I  choose  is  Suwarna  Abdul  Fatah,  he  is  my  grandfather  and  I’m  going  to  interview  him  about  his  leader ship.

My  opinion  about  Suwarna  Abdul  Fatah  is,  he  is  very  responsible, discipline,  and  firm  to  his   subordinate.   So  by  the  way,  If  you don’t  know  the  meaning  of  leader  is  some  one  that   lead   a  country  or  a  group  of  people  .

The  benefit  for  me  and  my  friend  Is  my  friend will  know about  the  leader  that  I  choose  and  how  he  be  a  leader,  and  how  he  manage   his  time  in  doing  his job.

His  history  is  he  was  born  in  1  January  1994  when   colonize   by   japan.  He  became  an  army  after  he  finished  his  high school He  was  been  a  governor  in  1998,  first  he  was  a  vise   governor for 5  years  before  he became governor  at  2006, his last position  in  the  army  major  jendral  .  He  is  the  9th  governor  in  Kalimantan   Timur.   He  was   married  in  1969.  His first child was born in 1970

Methodology

The  methodology  that  I  use  is,  I  will  interview  my  grandfather,   I will read the book about him,  search in the internet.

The characteristic of a good leader are, 1. A good leader has an exemplary character. It is of fully importance that a leader is trustworthy to lead others. A leader needs to be trusted and be known to live their life with honestly and integrity. A good leader "walks the talk" and in doing so earns the right to have responsibility for others. True authority is born from respect for the good character and trustworthiness of the person who leads.
2. A good leader is enthusiastic about their work or cause and also about their role as leader. People will respond more openly to a person of passion and dedication. Leaders need to be able to be a source of inspiration, and be a motivator towards the required action or cause. Although the responsibilities and roles of a leader may be different, the leader needs to be seen to be part of the team working towards the goal. This kind of leader will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get dirty.
3. A good leader is confident. In order to lead and set direction a leader needs to appear confident as a person and in the leadership role. Such a person inspires confidence in others and draws out the trust and best efforts of the team to complete the task well. A leader who conveys confidence towards the proposed objective inspires the best effort from team members.
4. A leader also needs to function in an orderly and purposeful manner in situations of uncertainty. People look to the leader during times of uncertainty and unfamiliarity and find reassurance and security when the leader portrays confidence and a positive demeanor.
5. Good leaders are tolerant of ambiguity and remain calm, composed and steadfast to the main purpose. Storms, emotions, and crises come and go and a good leader takes these as part of the journey and keeps a cool head.
6. A good leader, as well as keeping the main goal in focus, is able to think analytically. Not only does a good leader view a situation as a whole, but is able to break it down into sub parts for closer inspection. While keeping the goal in view, a good leader can break it down into manageable steps and make progress towards it.
7. A good leader is committed to excellence. Second best does not lead to success. The good leader not only maintains high standards, but also is proactive in raising the bar in order to achieve excellence in all areas.

                  Research and analysis

His history  was  he  was  born  in  1  January  1994  when   colonize   by   japan.  He  became  an  army  after  he  finished  his  high school He  was  been  a  governor  in  1998,  first  he  was  a  vise   governor for 5  years  before  he became governor  at  2006, his last position  in  the  army  major  general  .  He  is  the  10th    governor  in  Kalimantan   east.   He  was   married  in  1969.  His first child was born in 1970. Now he have 4 child. He retired at 2006. His first son name febry m nerwan, his second child named martin, his third son name sukma, and his last child named inayah.             When I interview him, I asked him why he was involved in corruption case. He said that he just signed the document without reading it first.
Actually the characteristic of a good leader is, the leader don’t have a corruption problem and he suppose to be care full of a writing in other word he have to read it carefully, in any letter or word in a paper.
So he can be a good leader or not, because he do bad thing and some times he do good thing. ( Me too, some times I hate him because he little bit selfish, but some times he is nice to other people).

The characteristic of  good leader that fit him is .

Conclusion
The conclusion is so Suwarna Abdul Fatah is a some times good and some times bad. Because some times he is selfish. But he is good in governg

He enrolled and was accepted into the army. At that time, he had only seven days on duty with the rank of sergeant, because the Dutch surrendered to the Japanese. SUDIRMAN IS MY FAVORITE LEADER

by Pandu
INTRODUCTION
My reason I pick this PDR project is because I like to learn more about people that have abilities as a good leader and I want to be a good leader too. My other reason is I really like to learn the characteristics of a good leader.
I choose Jendral Soedirman of Indonesia. He is one of the best leaders I’ve known in Indonesia. I choose him because he has the guts of being a good leader that lead Indonesia to victory against the Nederland.
The benefit I get is I can learn about famous people and learn about their life being a good leader. The other benefit I get is I can get info about being a good leader and its characteristic.
 METHODOLOGY
The methodology that I used to do my project is doing research by books and official website. I used the book and websites to do my research.
There are 7 characteristics of a good leader by Barbara White, the president of Beyond Better Development:
1. A good leader has an exemplary character. It is of fully important that a leader is trustworthy to lead others. A leader needs to be trusted and be known to live their life with honestly and  integrity. A good leader has the abilities to be a good leader since their born.
2. A good leader is enthusiastic about their work or cause and also about their role as leader. People will respond more openly to a person of passion and dedication. Leaders need to be able to be a source of inspiration, and be a motivator towards the required action or cause.
These seven personal characteristics are foundational to good leadership. Some characteristics may be more naturally present in the personality of a leader. However, each of these characteristics can also be developed and strengthened. A good leader whether they naturally possess these qualities or not, will be diligent to consistently develop and strengthen them in their leadership role.

RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS

He is a good leader because he has a high courage level and he is really brave. He always make sacrifice for his own country and he makes Indonesia win the war at Java island, so he always be known as a national hero and always be remembered.
Actually Soedirman is a teacher. Because of the Japanese attack, he joined the army school (PETA). Then, he was promoted to be a Daidanco (Batalyon commandant) in Kroya. After Indonesia got the freedom, formed a BKR (Badan Keamanan Rakyat), that the members are a former PETA, KNIL,Heiho and other forces. After BKR was changed to TKR (Tentara Keamanan Rakyat) October 5, 1945. Soedirman was promoted into “Chief of the 5th division of Banyumas”. That day was called the”Angkatan Bersenjata Republik Indonesia” (ABRI). At November 12, 1945, he was promoted to the 5 big General of Indonesia. The last war he been through is the Geriliya War.
His greatest challenge when being a leader is leading the army of Indonesia to defeat the army of the Nederland and control the army.

From the 7 characteristic of a good leader, he has all of the characteristics that were told by Barbara White.
 1. A good leader has an exemplary character. The example is when he is sick, but he still joins and led the war of the Gerliya War.
2. A good leader is enthusiastic about their work or cause and also about their role as leader. The example is Soedirman still has the spirit when Indonesia was almost closed to losing.
3. A good leader is confident. The example is when leading Indonesia at the Gerliya War
4. A good leader has to be polite and gentle to others. The example is when Soedirman meeting the president for the promotion of the five big generals
5. Good leaders have to be remaining calm, composed and focus to the main purpose. The example is Soedirman was focusing to the war to make Indonesia win the war.
6. Able to think clear and straight. The example is Soedirman can think for strategies to defeat the Nederland’s.
7. A good leader is committed to excellence. The example is he is respected by all Indonesian people.
This is the abilities that Soedirman have that make him a really good leader.

Conclusion And Recommendation
After the research and analysis I’ve done, Soedirman have all abilities as being a good leader. My summary of Soedirman’s characteristic is his bravery or courage, will to win, and have many ways to encourage peoples. The proof that Soedirman is a good leader are the achievements that he made, was respected by all Indonesian people, and Indonesia used his name as street name and a big statue of Soedirman to honor him.
My recommendation to be a good leader is you have to conquer the ability to be brave, have high spirit, and the ability to lead peoples, but you have to do the thing at your social life nicely too. If you want to be a good leader too you have to possess the characteristics of a good leader.

Although the responsibilities and roles of a leader may be different, the leader needs to be seen to be part of the team working towards the goal. This kind of leader will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get dirty.

7. A good leader is committed to excellence. Second best does not lead to success. The good leader not only maintains high standards, but also is proactive in raising the bar in order to achieve excellence in all areas.

                                      Research and analysis
Known as 'Mahatma' (great soul), Gandhi was the leader of the Indian nationalist movement against British rule, and is widely considered the father of his country. His doctrine of non-violent protest to achieve political and social progress has been hugely influential.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar in Gujarat. After university, he went to London to train as a barrister. He returned to India in 1891 and in 1893 accepted a job at an Indian law firm in Durban, South Africa. Gandhi was appalled by the treatment of Indian immigrants there, and joined the struggle to obtain basic rights for them. During his 20 years in South Africa he was sent to prison many times. Influenced primarily by Hinduism, but also by elements of Jainism and Christianity as well as writers including Tolstoy and Thoreau, Gandhi developed the satyagraha ('devotion to truth'), a new non-violent way to redress wrongs. In 1914, the South African government conceded to many of Gandhi's demands.
Gandhi returned to India shortly afterwards. In 1919, British plans to intern people suspected of sedition - the Rowlatt Acts - prompted Gandhi to announce a new satyagraha which attracted millions of followers. A demonstration against the acts resulted in the Amritsar Massacre by British troops. By 1920, Gandhi was a dominant figure in Indian politics. He transformed the Indian National Congress, and his programme of peaceful non-cooperation with the British included boycotts of British goods and institutions, leading to arrests of thousands.
In 1922, Gandhi himself was sentenced to six years' imprisonment. He was released after two years and withdrew from politics, devoting himself to trying to improve Hindu-Muslim relations, which had worsened. In 1930, Gandhi proclaimed a new campaign of civil disobedience in protest at a tax on salt, leading thousands on a 'March to the Sea' to symbolically make their own salt from seawater.
In 1931, Gandhi attended the Round Table Conference in London, as the sole representative of the Indian National Congress, but resigned from the party in 1934 in protest at its use of non-violence as a political expedient. He was replaced as leader by Jawaharlal Nehru.
In 1945, the British government began negotiations which culminated in the Mountbatten Plan of June 1947, and the formation of the two new independent states of India and Pakistan, divided along religious lines. Massive inter-communal violence marred the months before and after independence. Gandhi was opposed to partition, and now fasted in an attempt to bring calm in Calcutta and Delhi. On 30 January 1948, he was assassinated in Delhi by a Hindu fanatic.

                        Analysis of Mahatma Gandhi
1. Mahatma Gandhi is a good leader because has an exemplary character. It is of utmost importance that a leader is trustworthy to lead others. For example, he gave example to dress simple etc.. He were his cloth so it will now that he is an India & support his country.
3.Mahatma Gandhi is a good leader and confident. In order to lead and set direction a leader needs to appear confident as a person and in the leadership role. Such a person inspires confidence in others and draws out the trust and best efforts of the team to complete the task well. A leader who conveys confidence towards the proposed objective inspires the best effort from team members.
